Those interested in applying for plumbing training courses might be interested to learn that a £35 million project to improve water supplies serving businesses in Liverpool city centre is said to be progressing well.

Engineers working on behalf of Water Company United Utilities began to replace old cast-iron water pipes with modern plastic ones along Copperas Hill last week.

Project engineer John Maher said that the work started just past Hawke Street and will continue up past the junction of Skelhorne Street.

"This work, which will improve the reliability of the local network and reduce the risk of leakage, is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete," he stated.

He added that workers will continue along Copperas Hill and finish at the junction with Russell Street.

The news comes after Daily Telegraph journalist Tal Gottesman noted earlier this month that taking a plumbing training course gave her more confidence.
