There are many reasons why marketers should consider short form DRTV as a marketing method. They include the fact that when potential customers are viewing the advertisement they are comfortable and in their own homes. This means they are usually in a relaxed and positive state of mind, which lends itself to selling. The great thing about short form DRTV is that it provides consumers with the information they want to know about a product from how it works through demonstrations to pricing and how to purchase in a short period of time. Then, the customer is able to pick up the phone immediately and place an order. Alternatively, customers may choose to visit a website for the product and checkout.

Regular television advertising does not have the same kind of benefits. For example, a typical television commercial is about 30 seconds. During this time you will see what the product is and how it works, but you won't be given the opportunity to buy it. Instead, you will need to remember the product name and brand so you can look for it at the store. Of course, you may have to visit several stores to even find the product ...
... you are looking for. Or, some time may pass and you may find a competitor's product that is similar enough that you buy it instead. This is not a scenario that will take place with short form DRTV. Although there is never any intention of advertising for a competitor sometimes that is essentially what happens when customers buy competitors' products based on their memory of a particular advertisement.

When you use short form DRTV you won't need to worry about your customers finding a competitor's product and purchasing it while they are viewing your infomercial. Instead, during the five minutes or so the infomercial is airing you will be able to make or break your product. With an effective script and an excellent cast your short form DRTV infomercial should go very well and produce the sales and leads you are interested in.

Remember, short form DRTV can also help increase sales over the long run through word of mouth advertising. Your entire target market won't be able to see your infomercial when it first airs. However, if their friends and relatives do and they like your product then it won't take long for demand to grow and for sales to increase.

Short form DRTV advertisers have relied on A. Eicoff & Co. for their DRTV needs since 1959.
