The planet Earth is getting short on energy sources by the day, and it's really getting harder to find useful sources of usable energy. Apart from the scarcity factor, there is also the impact on the environment factor. Fossil fuels release a lot of carbon dioxide, which is very environmental-unfriendly, and that makes fossil fuels very undesirable. Therefore, alternative energy sources are the way to go.

There are many alternative energy sources, such as solar energy, wind energy, and many more. These energy sources don't release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. That means that they are very environment-friendly, and if we could use only these kinds of energy sources, our atmosphere would be very thankful. However, alternative energy sources aren't fully researched, thus cannot be used as primary energy sources. People still need fossil fuels, and we rely heavily on them, although they are, in a way, bad for us.

Anyway, solar energy really is the future, and on top of that, it is free. That is a huge advantage. All you have to invest in is the convector, which isn't, if you calculate it all, that expensive.
