Punk Scene And The Internet

The evolution of punk in the United States of America and United Kingdom is around four to five decades old, but today it has evolved as one of the most stylish and unique subculture. You can easily recognize a punk from a crowd of millions because they prefer to look different from the rest through their clothing patterns and hairstyles.
Today, you might see punk culture very much alive and kicking on the sidelines with us and they are gradually spreading into different areas like films, fashion videos and our culture too. Punk evolved out of many philosophical, artistic movements and other economic reasons that were raging during the early 1970s. One of the main reasons was the economic recession that happened then and the youth was all out on streets expressing their anger and incompetent government policies. Some of the earliest forms of punk are protopunk and glam punk that developed in Detroit, Boston and New York City.
Though, punk started gaining momentum very early, it was in 1980s when they came into the media spotlight and entered mainstream. Punk videos and punk movies were made to popularize punk and ...
... punk rock music.
But with the advent of internet, punk decided to take their publicity to the next level through the World Wide Web.
To some extent punks were very much like independent music bands that prefer to make and release and distribute their albums themselves, probably they would do it through some independent record company rather than with a popular record company. However, with internet all they had to do is make their music and upload it. Today you might find various web sites that play only punk music for punks. Online music stations and punk radio was developed that would broadcast punk music twenty-four hours a day. You might even find few web sites that are totally dedicated to punk culture and that updates latest news happening in punk scene.
With the entry of video hosting web sites like YouTube, punk rock bands began to upload their videos online for their fans and many fanzines also became a huge success. Group discussions and forums were later developed where punk fans can interact with each other and share their thoughts, opinions and ideologies. Even punk fashion web sites are being developed now that emphasizes on the contemporary punk styles to make you look stand apart.
