The secret to the success of any organisation is to help their employees find happiness and remain motivated. In the recent times, corporations across the world have realised that their employees are not just a “resource”. They are human beings, who on a daily basis contribute to the success of the organisations they work for. The best way to do this is to help them find happiness.

Not surprisingly, companies have started to take measures to improve upon the motivation levels of their employees and make them find happiness.

Here are some ideas about how ...
... to motivate your team:

1. Know your team well:
Do the team members gel well? Do they have the chemistry to do well together? Do they find happiness working together? How do they react to stress? Knowing whether the team as a whole has a positive psychology or not will help you motivate your team better.

2. Know the team members individually:
Being aware of the strengths, weaknesses and mind set of each team member is very important. While you might not immediately be able to make them overcome their weaknesses, building up on their strengths can help build up their positive psychology and a great way to motivate your team members.

3. Set realistic goals:
The goals you set for the team should be achievable with some effort. Don’t set very easy goals, as then you will run the risk of the team members get complacent. But the goals should not be unachievable too! Help the team find happiness by achieving one moderately tough goal at a time.

4. Encourage team spirit:
Build up cohesiveness in the team by making them jointly responsible for the tasks assigned. This will help in building in the team members the positive psychology of helping each other. If a strong member helps the not so strong ones, the team will find happiness and succeed collectively.

5. Encourage individually:
A few of the team members will need to be motivated separately from the team, in order to let help me find happiness. Not everyone will be comfortable to talk about themselves in front of the other team members. You need to understand their mood and talk to them separately to help them overcome their weaknesses, and build a positive psychology.

6. Reward often:
Motivate your team by recognising individual efforts. Give out small rewards now and then to build a positive psychology and help the team find happiness. This will lift their mood, and go a long way to motivate your team.

7. Have fun:
This is as important as working. Have fun regularly to help the team members relax. Go out for lunch, watch movies, have friendly matches. The list of what you can do is endless. This effort on your part will help the team find happiness, and motivate your team better.

As said earlier, a great way to motivate a person is to help him/her to find happiness. As a starting point, wouldn’t it be nice if you could monitor the happiness levels of each of your team members? The good news is that there is a company called Niko Niko (http://www.nikoniko.co/) which can do mood tracking of your team members. They have a great app of the same name, and can analyse the data recorded for your reference.
