Upgrading To Ethernet

When companies are looking to upgrade their Internet connections, they need to figure out the cost of everything before moving too far. Many companies who currently connect via T1 connections can see a dramatic increase of speeds by moving to a Metro Ethernet connection. DSL is often the cheapest because it runs over a copper phone line, but it also has the most connection issues.
Costs play a large role in a Metro Ethernet connection purchase. In some cases, a T1 line might give 1.5M bandwidth, while one Metro connection might give 10M of bandwidth at any given time. Metro Ethernet can also be upgraded to hand out up to 1GB bandwidth at some point as well. To be truly cost-effective, the company will need to use the connection very heavily. If that much bandwidth is not needed, a T1 connection might be a better decision. Once the company reaches higher levels or needs that extra bandwidth, the Metro Ethernet is usually a cheaper option. To be future-proof, the Metro connection is often highly regarded.
Internet connections are highly valuable to any business, not just online companies. Their Internet connection ...
... needs to be reliable and fast in order for them to make a quick move on a new product being released, or just to communicate to clients. A DSL can get the job done over a copper wire, but fiber is the future. Fiber cabling allows data to move at a much quicker pace and it's also more reliable than copper is. Metro Ethernet is on a constant connection that is sent between the carrier and the company. DSL copper wiring might be shared with other local companies before it reaches another business. The middle man is cut out by using Ethernet.
DSL was once the top Internet connection a few years back. Like hardware for computers, Internet connections will increase over the years. 56k used to be the fastest Internet connection for most home owners back around the year 2000. These days, most people run on a cable Internet connection. Small businesses can usually get away with one of these small connections if they do not need that much bandwidth, but large companies will not be able to.
Another name for Metro Ethernet is (MAN). Just like a Local-Area-Network has LAN as it's short abbreviation, this Ethernet connection has many similarities. Users of the Metro Ethernet can benefit from connecting two offices together. This is important because information from one office might have a delay when sent to another. A business could fall in a matter of days if the information is delayed too long. Video applications usually are the most-demanding on Internet connections. Most companies who do this type of business will truly appreciate the upgrade to Metro Ethernet.Click Here for more info.
