There are many valuable materials present on this earth which are mainly used as a part of an ornament that depict the financial status of a person. Some of such valuable ornaments that are found are Sapphire, Ruby, ceramic etc. But still there are some other places where these materials are used and most of us aren’t aware of this fact. There are many Ruby parts that are manufactured from Ruby. One such example is the ball that is manufactured from Ruby. The balls that are made from Ruby are called Ruby balls. These Ruby balls can also be used as the fiber optic connectors just like the sapphire balls. There has to certain measures to be followed while manufacturing the Ruby ball.

A very small manufacturing defect can make them totally useless and doesn’t serve the purpose. For this the manufactures have to take certain care and should adapt to the latest techniques in manufacturing them. The packing also has to be done in a very careful manner as a small dust particle could bring a lot of difference in its performance. These balls can also be used in Bar code scanners, Ball bearing applications, Ball check valves ...
... etc. How careful a manufacturer can be, still manufacturing a perfect sphere is impossible. So we have to manufacture those balls that can produce the minimum negligible effects in the output. For this they have to meet some criteria and only then are certified for usage. All the manufactured balls have to meet the AFBMA standards for sure and only then are certified for usage. Any Ruby ball that doesn’t satisfy the criteria is totally useless and cannot be used as they disturb the functionality in the above cited applications.

We use the ruby balls at a place where there is a requirement for high power. These balls can withstand with the high power, place in rim less mountings and are found so useful in optical fibers. They act as connectors and help in reducing the coupling losses of an optical fiber, thereby helping in the long distance communication done through optical fibers. They are also used in watch glasses and medical equipment. Some of the other precious tools that are made of Ruby are Ruby Orifice, Ruby Nozzle, Ruby Jewel, Ruby Insulator, Precision Orifice etc. All these are now a part of the technology and serve an unseen purpose in an effective way.
