The 2015 F-150 Ecoboost 2.7 Liter V6 Engine Delivers V8 Performance
Ford has managed to pack even more punch into the 2.7 Liter V-6 EcoBoost Engine that powers the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck. F-150 owners can now enjoy V-8 power with V-6 economy. The 2015 version is a brand new and improved design based on the culmination of engineering knowledge assembled from the previous EcoBoost versions.
The new 2.7 liter engine has a strengthened engine block that's made of compacted graphite iron that's designed to tolerate the elevated cylinder pressures generated by the high compression engine. The 2.7 Liter EcoBoost is about half the size of most V-8 engines on the market today. This smaller engine still manages to turn out 325 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque. The integrated exhaust manifolds allow the turbocharged engine to be more efficient than previous models with the end result being more power with less fuel consumption. The new engine is designed to deliver the power and torque of a larger V-8 engine with the fuel economy of a smaller V-6. High tech sensors enable the engine to perform with maximum efficiency thereby reducing fuel usage. An automatic engine stop-start comes as ...
... a standard feature on the 2015 F-150.
The 2015 body and frame are both made from lighter and stronger materials that results in a 700 pound weight loss from the previous model. This weight differential allows the smaller engine to work even more efficiently and powerfully than earlier models. The reduced weight also allows for faster acceleration and quicker stopping.
The entire truck has been redesigned based on customer feedback. The lighting package has been updated to provide improved visibility when driving in dark or foggy conditions. Options include front, rear and mirror mounted cameras. The mirror also comes with an embedded spotlight option that can be rotated with the mirror controls. The side windows have been modified to allow for better visibility from inside the cab. The dash display has also been redesigned for better visibility and ease of use. The smart trailer tow option provides the operator with direct feedback when towing.
The stronger and lighter construction materials in the new F-150 version keep the "Ford Tough" philosophy alive and well in 2015. The many improvements and upgrades to the Ford F-150 and the EcoBoost Engine will likely keep it at the top of the American pickup category. For the consumer looking for exceptional fuel economy without sacrificing power and towing capacity, the 2015 Ford F-150 with the 2.7 Liter V-6 EcoBoost is the way to go.
