How To Protect Your Eyes When Using The Computer
Anybody who sits for long periods of time in front of the computer at work every day has probably experienced some discomfort in the eyes, and bad results on their vision. I spend a whole 12 hours a day at the computer almost every day, and after a few months of this I started to experience a marginally painful burning sensation in my eyes when using the computer ; my eyeballs felt dry and itchy ; I felt debris wiggling around in my eye socket, beside and behind my eyeballs ; and I began to see some eye floaters, which are black spots that float around in your vision, as well as some black shadows and occasionallight flashes when I scanned from side to side with my eyes. Obviously I was in a little bit of a panic, since it was the 1st time I had ever had any eye issues. In my attempts to deal with this problem I discovered a couple of things computer users can do to guard their eyes and keep them healthy. Please understand that I am not a doctor, these are just some remedies that I researched and found them personally really helpful.
The single most vital element in lowering eye strain and all its successive Problems ...
... was to begin turning down my computer screen's brightness. I had always thought that the standard brightness was the best, and was the standard because it was the safest and healthiest. How wrong I was. The very day that I started lowering my screen brightness, my eyes' burning feeling dropped by around ninety percent. I continue to get it a bitat the end of my work day, but it comes much later and it is far less harsh than before. How much I turn down the screen brightness is dependent on the brightness of the room. When the room is dimly lit, I dim the screen quite a lot to match the room's brightness. When the room is more brightly lit up then I don't decrease the screen brightness that much, but I still lower the default brightness by some button pushes. Please be proactive and begin reducing your monitor brightness before you start having Problems.
The second important issue has been to keep my eyes hydrated. Your eyeballs can quickly get dry when you're making them work strenuously, and this could increase your eye strain and create more discomfort and anxiety. All of those little itches and tickles you are feeling when you let your eyes get dry can be pretty scary, like there's something crawling around inside. But truly it's because of the dryness. So I 'dlike to recommend you buy some eyedrops and use two drops in each eye every few hours, or whenever your eyes feel dry or itchy. Fancy eyedrops are not necessary, merely a basic vitamin-filled eyedrop is good. Certain eyedrops contain eucalyptus, which has a cooling feeling that will offer relief when you have a burning feeling in your eyes. Another vital part of keeping your eyes hydrated is just drinking a sufficient amount of water and eating water based foods like fruit and vegetables. While working it can be straightforward to avoid drinking anything apart from coffee, but remember that coffee is a diuretic which removes water from your body including your eyes. So be sure you drink lots of water.
One final thing you can do to keep your eyes healthy and robust is to swallow blueberries or blueberry extract. Blueberry contains anthocyans, a kind of bioflavanoid that's soaked quickly into the brain, and has a fast result on your sight. So if you're feeling heavy eyestrainand need fast relief, as well as eyedrops I'd reccommend you consume some blueberries or blueberry extract capsules. I am taking two blueberry extract capsules every day for ongoing eye health, and I take an extra dose whenever I feel some heavy strain. Blueberries also contain antioxydants that help stop cancer and are really healthy in general.
The above three strategies are the things that have in particular helped me get over my eye problems. Living a healthful way of life in general is also important. For example, floaters, shadows and light flashes happen much more frequently when I haven't slept well that day. When I sleep well they're almost gone completely. So use the above strategies and do not forget to always keep your wellbeing as your number 1 concern.
