Become A Smart Traveller And Boost Your Social Network With Dopplr On Facebook

Dopplr is great for travel planning, but how can a smart traveller use it alongside other web sites and social networks? Dopplr was built from the start to make this easy. Connections to services like Flickr, XING and Facebook are built-in. Let's take a look at Facebook in detail.
In Facebook, users can add apps to their profiles; these apps can do all sorts of things, some useful and some just for fun.
The Dopplr: Where Next? app is one of the more useful ones. Once activated, it inserts a Dopplr profile box on your Facebook home page, showing your current location and an outline of your planned trips.
When you go travelling, the Dopplr app updates your Facebook feed, so that all your Facebook friends can see where you're going and when.
Facebook also works as part of the Dopplr Social Network subscription. That means that when you connect to someone on Facebook, Dopplr will automatically check to see if that person is a Dopplr traveller. If they are, you'll get the chance to share your trips with them on Dopplr.
The app also gives you access to a list of all your Facebook friends who are ...
... Dopplr travellers. You can see in a single glance where they are now, and where they will be travelling to next. There's also a view of Facebook friends who don't share their trips with you. In each case, you can click on a person's name to jump directly to their Facebook profile, or on a Dopplr link to see their trips.
The Dopplr panel appears by default in Facebook's "Boxes" tab, but we think it works better on your wall. You can move it there by clicking the Edit button on the panel, and selecting "Move to Wall tab". From the panel, it's easy to get direct access to your Dopplr account and all the travel tips you can find there. Just click the "Add a trip" link to get started.
The Dopplr app on Facebook helps you share your travel plans with more people, and might encourage some of your Facebook friends to sign up for Dopplr accounts too. And that's good for you, because Dopplr gets more useful as you connect to more fellow travellers. Business travel becomes more interesting when there are opportunities to meet colleagues en route. Via the Social Atlas, Dopplr travellers can share their snippets of travel advice with others, exchanging recommendations on the best places to eat, stay and explore in cities around the world.
Dopplr is a service for smart travellers. Dopplr members share travel planning and travel tips privately with people they trust, and exchange advice on places to stay, eat and explore in cities around the world.
