Applications


Ferro Silicon is used for:

• Making steel and foundries as a source of silicon in production of carbon steels, other Ferro alloys for its deoxidizing properties and stainless steel

• Utilized in manufacturing silicon steel for transformer cores and electro-motors

• Inoculation of the iron

• Preventing loss of carbon from the molten iron

• Electrode coatings in arc welding

 Manganese Alloys (Silico Manganese, MC, HC and LC Ferro Manganese)

 Ferro Silicon, Chrome Alloys (Charge Chrome, MC, HC, LC Ferro Chrome and Silico Chrome)

 Noble Ferro Alloys (Ferro Titanium, Ferro Boron, Ferro Molybdenum, Ferro Tungsten, Ferro Vanadium, etc)


Used for the production of ductile iron, Ferro silicon is a basis for manufacture of prealloys like magnesium (MgFeSi). Small amounts of rare earth metals and 3-42% magnesium create MgFeSi. By a patented hydrometallurgical process, a very pure silicon metal is also produced. By treatment in an iron chloride solution followed by a further purification process, this process removes the impurities in high silicon.
