The Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) just named the 2014 Jeep Cherokee the Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year. This was named at NWAPA’s 20th annual gathering, affectionately called Mudfest. Automobiles are evaluated on their capability, comfort and value.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee was awarded this prestigious title based on its features and road capabilities as well as its overall superb performance. The Cherokee boasts excellent fuel economy and superb features. It contains the ideal balance of performance and durability.

According to www.media.chrysler.com, all vehicles competing for this award were subjected to two days of vehicle testing on a variety of road conditions and types. Vehicles were driven on pavement, dirt roads, trails and other types of conditions. In all, 16 manufacturers submitted 23 automobiles to be examined and tested. Over 20 different journalists were asked to give their ratings and opinions of the competing vehicles and select five winners based on five unique categories: compact utility, family utility, premium compact utility, premium ...
... standard utility and extreme capability automobiles. The Cherokee was named best compact utility vehicle. Following this initial selection process, the journalists selected an overall winning vehicle. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee was selected as this year’s overall winner.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is a mid-sized sports utility vehicle with 4x4 capabilities.
