California Wines Export To Countries Around The Globe

It wasn’t that long ago those American wines were considered inferior in comparison to those produced by European wineries. While wine has been produced in the United States for more than 300 years, that still make it a relatively new player in the game—in Europe and the Middle East, wine production has been up and running since 6,000 B.C. When looking at it in terms of sheer numbers, the United states had a lot of catching up to do.
And catch up it did. Now? Countries the world over are clamoring to get their hands on American produced wine and American wine makers are rising to meet their demands. International markets are discovering the quality and diversity US wines can offer. From 2012 to 2013, revenue from US wine exports increased more than 16% and it is expected to keep rising. From simple and inexpensive table wines to complex artisanal products, United States based wineries have what the world is looking for.
In 2013, U.S. based wineries made $1.55 billion on wine exports. 90% of these revenues came from wines produced in California. The biggest consumers of California wines are, believe it ...
... or not, countries within the European Union. In other words, citizens of these countries where wine history runs deep and rich are turning to American wines over those produced in their own nations—and they are doing so in record numbers. Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and China round out the top five foreign consumers of American wine, though the list of countries importing US wine is quite long.
Due to the swiftly increasing profits, the business of exporting wine is more lucrative now than ever. As it is a rapidly expanding market, there is plenty of room for new companies to jump into the fray. You do not need to own your own winery to get into it, either. There are many companies based in wine country who are happy to build you packages containing wines from multiple wineries. These bundlers have extensive connections and are able to assemble a 100% customized package that will suit the needs of the market you are looking to sell to. The companies can even negotiate on your behalf with vineyards and wineries to create a custom blend for you to market.
More than ever, the American wine scene is earning international respect—respect that is well deserved for the high quality and artistry of the wines produced. With incredible products and billions in profits, it is an industry which can no longer be ignored. With high—yet distinctly American—quality, these wines are making their way to dinner tables across the world. So raise a toast to American wine country and American produced wines.
