In today’s market there is stiff competition in the full-size truck segment. Two of the more appealing options are the 2014 Nissan Titan and the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The 2014 Nissan Titan offers comfort, dependability, quality and power with many upgrades, high tech features on the dash and an innovative work station in the front seat. The 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 offers a comfortable ride with less road noise inside, optional Bose Audio System, a heated steering wheel and seats and updated controls on the dash.

Interior Features
The Titan is available with NissanConnect helping the driver stay connected to the world. The display screen has technology for hands free calling, voice command texting, GPS navigational system, a digital weather display, and the ability to check Facebook and Twitter. The new Chevy Silverado 1500 has steering wheel controls that change the station on the radio, activate the heated steering wheel, and also activate the voice controls. Options are also available for heated and cooled seats, driver alert when changing lanes, a Bose Sound System and MYLink voice command ...
... technology.

The front passenger seat in the Nissan Titan folds down, doubling as a mobile work station that is large enough to hold a laptop. The Titan includes a 12 volt outlet for charging cell phones and laptops. The Silverado 1500 features deep center console, front and rear door storage, and an overhead console that gives you plenty of storage.

Options and Accessories
Nissan offers the option to choose from a variety of accessories and packages. The 4 door King Cab S package includes wide rear doors, seats 6, and has 317 horsepower with 385 lb. –ft. torque that gets an EPA estimated 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. The King Cab 4 door SV package adds cruise control, MP3 CD and AM/FM audio, 18 inch alloy aluminum wheels, and step rails.

Nissan's 4 door King Cab Pro 4x seats 5 comfortably. It has skid plates, a lower final gear ratio with locking rear differential, Rancho shocks, 317 horsepower, EPA estimated 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, and you get all features of the king cab SV package.

The SL edition is a heavy metal mirrored finish package with extra chrome on the front grille, wheels, mirrors, door handles and step rail. It also has an 8 way power adjusting driver’s seat, front captain chairs, satellite radio, rear view safety monitoring, leather wrap steering and shifter, and hands free Bluetooth technology.

Chevy's Silverado 1500 offers crew cab, double cab and regular cab models and a choice of 3 bed lengths. The crew and double cab models have wider doors and more foot and leg room. The V6 has a 4.3L EcoTec 3 engine and the V8 has a 5.3L Ecotec3 engine. You have a choice of engine sizes with both the crew and double cab models. The Silverado 1500 has active fuel management with direct fuel injection for an EPA estimated 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Quiet as a mouse inside, the Chevy Silverado 1500 boasts its new aero-dynamic windshield angle, noise cancellation, triple sealed doors and tuned exhaust.

Cargo Bed Construction and Sizes
A fully boxed steel frame on all sides make the Titan's bed tough enough to carry most anything. It has an utili- track channel system in the bed that makes it easy to strap down cargo. The Silverado's cargo bed has 4 lower tie downs and upper tie downs that are optional, along with an optional easy lift/close tail gate, and LED lights underneath the bed rails. The Silverado 1500 boast an enhanced shock suspension and hydraulic mounts in the rear for off road and towing. 2014 Nissan Titan's starting MSRP is $29,270. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado starting MSRP is $25,575. While Silverado 1500 may get the more acclaim, the Nissan Titan stacks up quite well to the competition.
