Dwarka, one of the four most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites of India, is the first capital of Gujarat and the ancient kingdom of Shri Krishna. It is located in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat, on the banks of Gomti River. Dwarka Somnath tour commences from Ahmedabad.

On reaching here one can spend a full day city sightseeing. At Ahmedabad, visit the magnificient Akshardham Temple, dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. It was inaugurated in 1992 and has now become a major tourist attraction in India. It covers an area of about 23 acre and is made of beautifully carved pink sandstone. The other places to visit are the Iskon Temple, depicting Lord Krishna with his beloved lover Radha, the Law Garden, an open market where we can purchase jewelry, apparel and handicrafts and many other places.

From Ahmedabad, transfer to Jamnagar. Here visit the Bala Hanuman temple, a pilgrim place adored by the devotees of Lord Ram. This temple is world famous for the longest continuous chanting of "Ram Dhun” since 1964 and has found a place for it in “The Guinness Book of World Records”. People chant the name of the lord in shifts, ...
... 24 hours a day. The Lakhota tower is another tourist spot in the Lakhota Lake.

Then move on to Dwarka, located in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat, on the banks of Gomti river. Dwarkadeesh Temple is the famous temple to be visited, which has almost 2500 years old scriptures. Here one can take a holy dip in Gomti river. Then visit Nageshwar Jyotirling, located on the enroute between Gomati Dwarka and the Bait Dark. The Jyotirlinga enshrined in the Temple of Nagnath is known as Nageshwar Mahadev. As per the puranas, there are 12 jyotirlingas or columns of light representing Lord Shiva. The other places to visit are Gopi Talav, Bet Dwarka, which is only 5 kms from Okha junction in sea and Okha is 30 kms from Dwarka. It is surrounded by sea from all sides. It is also the place where Lord Vishnu slew the demon Shankhasura. Here people also visit the Krishna Temple, as it is said to be the place where Lord Krishna lived with his family when he ruled at Dwarka . The other place worth seeing is the Rukmani Temple of Lord Krihsna’s wife, along with the other temples on coastal area.

From Dwarka proceed to Porbandar, the harbor city, situated on the western coast of Gujarat, well known as the birth-place of Mahatma Gandhi - The Father of The Nation.  The major attraction for the most visitors in this city is the Kirti Temple, the three story house where Gandhiji was born in 1869. Also visit Gandhi museum, study room of Mahatma Gandhi in the Kirti Temple. Sudama Temple, associated with a popular story of Krishna and his dear friend Sudama.

Proceed to Somnath. The driving distance between Dwarka and Somnath is 231 km, while the aerial distance is 210 km. No direct flights or trains or buses are available between Dwarka to Somnath.
