The test cricket matches were played at International level in 1877. In 1983 Asia Cup Cricket was introduced. During this time, the game emerged from its origin England and gained recognition all over the world as an International sport. Cricket is being follower all over the world even it has gained popularity in America as well. However the Sub Continent Nations-India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are considered to be the biggest platform for cricket’s popularity.

The cricket world cup commenced in 1975 and the cricket game reached at its peak in gaining fame and enthusiasm all over the world. However in sub continent nations it became like a national sport and an image of nation’s esteem and prestige. The cricket’s fever was at its peak in those days and ever since it has increased more till now. The cricket retained more zeal and passion in sub continents than any other country of the world.

When it comes to Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka, the cricket history of these three nations is tremendous. They held world cup and all of the cricket’s trophies once in the past. Cricket is an obsession in sub continent nations.

India held the World Cup Trophy in the year 1983 for the first time under the team captaincy of the huge cricketer Kapil Dev.

Pakistan held the world cup trophy in the year 1992 for the first time under the captaincy of one of the most remarkable cricketer Imran Khan.

Sri Lanka lifted the world cup trophy in the year 1996 and the team was captained by best cricketer of all times Arjuna Ranatunga.

Bangladesh strived in the field of cricket but unfortunately never held the world cup. The team is becoming more and more popular and competent for cricket.

The year 2007, in which the world cup tournament turned out to be unlucky for India and Bangladesh. As far as Pakistan was concerned the team was going through a very bad phase and was surrounded my many controversies. Sri Lanka in its home series lost the matches disappointing the nation. The World Cup Trophy unfortunately didn’t come to the Sub Continent Nations in this year.
