Has your credit card company sent you a letter that is no longer on white paper but in red instead? The state of our current economics has got many going the extra mile of stretching their last few dollars. More often than not, people tend to spend more than they can afford when they've got a plastic card in hand. With that in mind, have you ever wondered what would really happen if you don't pay up your bills?

First, you'd get collector calls in abundance. Your creditor would be constantly harassing you at all sorts of hours throughout the day asking and reminding you about your outstanding payment. What they cannot do is threaten you in any way, so if they do, take down their name and number and have it reported to the company's management.

Aside from calls and letters, your credit card company would cancel your card subscription which would disallow you from charging more purchases to your already outstanding credit amount. They will then go on to increase your interest rate which would get higher and higher the longer you ignore the pilling up letters. This will lead you to being blacklisted on all creditors ...
... list which would ruin the chances of your next loan for education, mortgage, cars, and homes and so on. In addition to that, your credit score would also be ruined which would give you a hard time when it comes to job applications and references.

After some time, your creditor would realize that you're running and will take legal action against you. This would results in liens, garnished wages or any other legal judgment which would be required to pay your debts. Many companies don't like going through this process as it's too much of a hassle, but if you don't acknowledge your dues, you'd be forced to face the consequences.

In conclusion, you're better off living with cash rather than a card, but if you must then learn to discipline yourself and only spend within your means.
