4 Ways To Stop Procrastination
Do you regularly find yourself unable to achieve those important deadlines because you were glued to the TV, playing laptop games or even sleeping? If so, then you're a sufferer of procrastination. A self-inflicted victim I might add, which is good because YOU can change those procrastinating ways and become that time capable triumph that you know you can be!
Now, I was a chronic procrastinator just a short time ago. Nevertheless, those days are in the PAST. Now, I can set goals and achieve them without any time-consuming hassles. And you can do the same as well, just by sticking to the following easy techniques:
1. Plan your daily must-do activities: Write up a clear to-do list. Preferably write it down on paper or a white board but you can use a laptop if you prefer. Include all the tasks that as a minimum MUST be done today. No ifs or buts! These are the MUST-Do activities.
2. Sort the activities in order of importance, with the more important activities having precedence over the less important ones on the list. If there are important tasks to do, but not urgent enough to be stressed out ...
... about if not done, put them next on the list. This idea is founded on the established principle that 80% of benefit comes from 20% of work directed towards accomplishing important activities.
3. Just Do It! Even if the deadline is a week from now, or a month from now, commencing work on an important task will help you minimize stress and do it well. When you start a major job just before the deadline, you are likely to become anxious and worst of all, make mistakes. Get used to starting jobs well before the deadline.
4. Step by Step. Projects may appear like enormous mountains at first but it is important to remain in control. Afterall, you can only eat an elephant one bit at a time! And it takes time to digestJust begin working on the project or task on hand and don't worry about getting it perfect. You still have a lot of time to straighten out the wrinkles. Trying to get everything right on the first go is the number one reason used by procrastinators for not getting things done!
Procrastination is a deadly disease and it not only destroys motivation but also your chances for success. So stop procrastinating right now and start achieving your goals TODAY!!
