Alzheimer's disease is an incurable and degenerative type of brain disorder that commonly affects people over 65 years of age. There are cases where the onset is much earlier, which means even those under the age of 65 can get the disease. There is no particular distinction on who gets affected by Alzheimer's, but there are symptoms seen on prospective patients that can be leading toward the disease. The most common sign observed during the early stage is the difficulty of recalling recently learned information. There is a tendency to ask the same information repeatedly and relying important dates from family members and even from electronic memory aides.

As of this day, millions of people worldwide are affected by the condition, and the number significantly increases each year. This is the reason why there are Medicare nursing home centers found in almost every region and state of the United States to cope with the growing number of people with Alzheimer's. The disease was first illustrated in 1906 and was named after Alois Alzheimer, the scientist responsible for its awareness. Since then, more scientists have been ...
... going through the many facets of the disease and were quite successful in extending to the public a more intense understanding in dealing with the condition.

Alzheimer's acts by destroying the brain cells responsible for memory, behavior, and thinking. It is a progressive and fatal type of disease that affects work, social life, and relationships. It can be worse over time, and in fact, it is placed in the seventh spot among the leading causes of death in the United States alone. Currently, there is no known cure or treatment for the disease, but the symptoms can be managed. And together with the proper support and services, such as a Medicare nursing home, life is a little better for the millions of people suffering from Alzheimer's.

There is a Medicare nursing home that specifically caters to Alzheimer cases. These are care homes that provide the necessary physical and rehabilitative therapies that the patients need. A Medicare nursing home is a government-accredited facility that is open for the aged who made contributions to the Medicare and Social Security while they were still employed. Each state of the United States has its own laws and regulations with regards to nursing homes, which in turn are given the option to partake in Medicare and in other government-related programs.

And since a Medicare nursing home is required to have a licensed practical nurse to be on duty twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, Alzheimer's patients are guaranteed to be given the proper care they need. The disease is incurable and a lifetime condition, which means they are expected to need a full-time nursing care. Despite the condition, patients are made to understand by Medicare nursing home caregivers that life is not over yet. These homes take care of patient's physical and emotional wellness, and since patients experience the disease differently, they are given a caregiving approach that is distinct from each other.

Alzheimer's is a manageable condition if only the people around the one concerned is aware of it. With the help of facilities such as a Medicare nursing home, taking care of family members afflicted with the illness will never be a problem.
