Fr. Roger Landry, Harvard alumn and a Drop River priest, highlights:

Harvard simply would never allow itself or its properties to be linked with events that mock the religions, desecrate the sacred texts, or insult the spiritual empathy of Jews or Muslims. Similarly it'dn't let its standing or institution to be associate in any way with the actions or viewpoints of an "independent student organization" that was reenacting the lynchings of African-Americans or homophobic assaults or violence against ladies. Harvard would act decisively in those scenarios, both out of just concern for an unique standing but also out of moral outrage against such insensitiveness that clear presuming, ethical individuals instantaneously comprehend as evil.

Amidst the media storm encompassing the satanic activity at Harvard, let's remember that folks are pulled by satan to hell with him each day through the covert and subtle. Blatant violations of Divine Law consistently prompt people of good faith and conscience. That Is why satan functions softly.

1 Peter reminds us that "Your rival the devil is ...
... prowling around like a roaring lion searching for [some one] to devour." The lion doesn't roar these days, but instead softly mingles with before assaulting his prey. To this end, allow this black mass be a wake-up call to many of us. We're called everyday to oppose satan's activity on earth. Let Us muster around that.
