Aging is the deterioration of your body’s cells, organs, and muscles over time. One of the reasons for aging is the damage to your body that is caused by free radicals. Can the aging process be stopped? No, but you can slow down the aging process by reducing the number of free radicals attacking your body.
Free radicals are counteracted by your body with the help of antioxidants. Since many vegetables are high in antioxidants, one way you can help fend off the effects of aging is by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately the food we buy at the store does not have high enough levels of antioxidants to do the trick. Recently a new product hit the market, HealthyCell, and has done it for me. Don’t worry, it is fully FDA approved.
As part of your body’s normal metabolism, it uses an oxidization process to create energy from foods. This oxidization process creates free radicals. A free radical is a molecule that has lost one of its electrons. ...
... That may not sound too bad, but unfortunately, a free radical is something like a zombie. It cannot stand having an electron missing, so it goes in search of a healthy molecule. The free radical then attacks the healthy molecule and takes one of its electrons. The victim molecule that had its electron stolen will then become a free radical, and it will go in search of another victim. Eventually, enough molecules will become victims that entire cells and even organs will be damaged. The result of the damage is what people call aging.
The body uses antioxidants to fight the damaging effects of free radicals. An antioxidant will happily give up one of its electrons, thus the domino effect of free radicals creating more free radicals is stopped. The bodies of most young people make more than enough antioxidants to counter the effects of free radicals. However, as a person grows older, the body’s ability to create antioxidants is reduced, and it needs a little help. By eating fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants, a person can help their body slow down the worst of the damage caused by free radicals.
Fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, collards, spinach, pink grapefruit, and watermelon are high in certain types of antioxidants. Orange colored foods like carrots, squash, cantaloupe, and sweet potatoes are also a good source of antioxidants. There are many different kinds of antioxidants, and different fruits and vegetables have different types. Since your body needs a variety of antioxidants, many health experts recommend that people eat 5 or more servings of different kinds of vegetables each day.
Taking a supplement like HealthyCell, eating a variety of fruits and vegetables not only helps your body fight the aging effects of free radicals, it will also insure your body has the vitamins and nutrients it needs to remain healthy. Although you can never completely stop the deterioration of your body that is caused by free radicals, by eating at least 5 helpings of fruits and vegetables every day, you can at least slow down the aging effects.
