Not so long ago, if you wanted to sell your house or any piece of real estate property all you had to do was put up a ‘for sale’ sign at the entrance to the property and then wait for prospective buyers to start trickling in. Though this system would eventually work and the property would finally be sold, the waiting period before a buyer was found was simply too long, mainly because unless someone passed by that sign then they had absolutely no way of knowing there was a house or property for sale right there no matter how desperate they may have been to buy such property.

To solve the time problem in builder advertising, real estate agents started showing up, almost from nowhere. Initially their work was to simply identify the properties available for sale, identify the people looking for such property to purchase, and then connect the two parties while charging a small fee for acting as the much needed bridge. The appearance of the real estate agents significantly reduced the waiting time and real estate properties were sold much faster than they were sold initially. Over time, the functions of these real estate ...
... agents too continued to evolve as they continued to do more on behalf of both the prospective home buyers and the sellers of the homes. In fact, the birth of builder advertising can be traced back to these formative years of the real estate agencies. It is also at about this time that real estate branding started to come to the surface as an important component of builder advertising, although it too was in a relatively more primitive state of development.

In the last decade or, following the birth of the internet, builder advertising has taken a completely new turn and even the previously indispensable real estate agents are increasingly finding themselves becoming irrelevant. Their functions are being taken over by online marketing firms, especially the online marketing firms that specialize in builder advertising and real estate branding. It is not that the former have lost their ability to deliver and, in truth, they are not likely to be going away completely anytime within the foreseeable future. They can still deliver if given enough time, but the problem is that internet marketing can deliver excellent results within a much shorter time frame. Every marketer knows that the secret to boosting sales volume or to sell something very fast is to pass information about the said item to as many people as possible. At present there is literally no advertising avenue that beats the internet in terms of the size of the audience that it can reach. Another factor that has driven internet advertising to the top of modern day builder marketing is the cost savings that come with this new approach since you can even advertise your real estate property at no cost at all over the internet. Note though that without expert assistance it will probably take you longer to start enjoying the results.
