Explore Hanoi And Around In Vietnam
By turns exotic, degraded, clumsy and popular, the high-octane Vietnamese capital of Hanoi provides a full-scale invasion on the senses. Its fragile, lemon-hued colonial architecture is a blowout for the eyes; hordes of bumbling motorbikes plunder the ear, while the gentle scents and tastes of delightful street food can be found all across a city that – unlike so many of its regional epochs is managing to renovate with a degree of grace.
Hanoi city centre constitutes a compact area known as Hoan Kiem District, which is cleanly surrounded by the Red River causeway in the east and by the rail line to the north and west, while the southern extent is pointed by the roads Le Van Huu, Nguyen Du and Han Thuyen.
The beautiful region takes its name from its present-day hub and most evident point of reference, Hoan Kiem Lake that lies between the crowded and perpetually diverting Old Quarter in the north, and the tree-lined highways of the French Quarter, which is arranged in a roughframework system, to the south.
In the west of this central district Hanoi, across the rail tracks, some of the most attractive monuments ...
... occupy the wide open spaces of the former Imperial City, and it has grouped around Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum on Ba Dinh Square and extended south to the old enclosed gardens of the Temple of Literature.
A vast body of water complecatedly called West Lake sits north of the city, concealing a number of beautiful temples and shrines, but the beautiful villages that once enclosed it, have now largely given way to upmarket residential areas and a basics of luxury hotels.
With Touring Vietnam many making the journey from south to north Hanoi, and it provides a comfortable base for cruise to Ha Long Bay, and to Sa Pa and the northern mountains, where you will be able to get away from the tourist swarms and sample life in rural Vietnam.
There are also a few attractive destinations much closer at hand, especially religious foundations such as the Perfume Pagoda, with its breathtaking setting among limestone highlands, and the spiral-shaped citadel of Co Loa that is really wonderful to see in Vietnam tour.
Said to be the quintessential city of Vietnam – a millennium-old capital of decaying pagodas and intricate streets existed a thousand years long, Hanoi is a mixture of a buried modern life and feasible values preserved for generations. As such, Hanoi has become extremely interesting to tourists especially with Cultural and Historical Vietnam tours.
