There are a variety of dental insurance plans available in the market which are very attractive for different types of customers with different needs. Below please find some of the basic principles ...
... of insurance which will help in reducing the overall costs. Some of them are listed below.

1. Deductibles. For some, under the coverage of a dental insurance plan, you can claim the bill from the insurance company. The company will deduct the deductible and pay the rest to you. The higher the deductible, the lower the premium.

2. Co-insurance. This is the percentage of the dental costs that you will pay and the rest is paid by the insurance company. The higher the co-insurance the lower is the premium. If you are a frequent visitor to the dentist, then keep co-insurance and deductibles low, but if you are an occasional visitor, select a plan which has co-insurance and deductibles on the higher side and premium on the lower side.

3. Direct reimbursement plan. This is the most favored plan which let the employees be reimbursed for any money they spend on dental care. However, not all companies can afford to do this as small business may not be able to match larger bills.

4. Indemnity plan. Smaller businesses prefer this plan . With it, they will pay one hundred percent of cleanings amount, eighty percent for basic work like getting a cap and fifty percent for surgical procedures.

5. Managed care plan. Most common, though not always the most favored . For businesses with little money to spend on dental insurance, this plan will be good for them. This allows employers to pay for only some of the bill. Of course, this plan is not popular with most employees as they may end up paying the majority, but it must be understood that, for smaller businesses, dental insurance is more of a luxury than necessity.

6. Dental discount plan- this plan has gained its popularity as one of the way to help reduce your dental cost. Participating dental care providers have agreed to accept a discounted fee from you ( as the plan members) as full payment for services performed. As a plan member, all you need to do is to show your membership card when visits these dentists to receive dental services at discounted fees. These plans are designed for individuals, families and groups looking for an alternative to traditional dental insurance plan which is more expensive.
