Best 7 Excuses To Visit Moscow, Russia

If you are looking for the seven top reasons to visit Moscow, Russia, there are a few things you should know first. Moscow is the capital and the largest city in Russia. Moscow is also one of the largest urban areas in the world, with a population of over ten million people. Moscow is considered to be a megacity and is a huge economic, political, religious and cultural centre to Russia and Russia. The history of Moscow is heavy with tradition and tradition but the spirit of the people is more carefree than in the past.

Moscow is a beautiful historic city with many places to see. Magnificent cathedrals, beautiful gardens, and intricate art in the old world style are there to be explored and admired. The city has so many places to see that it is quite hardto limit my list just to seven top reasons to travel to Moscow but I have tried to include the must see sights in this list.

4. Beautiful Cathedrals - -Cathedrals of Christ the Savior, St. Basil Cathedral

A trip to Moscow would not be complete without visiting the Kremlin and Kremlin . The Red Square is over 500 years old and was used as a marketplace in the days of Ivan the Terrible in 1493. Red Square was not named for from the color; in Russia, the word "Red" means Beautiful. The Communist party leaders made sure that Red Square was a place full of beautiful things that still exist today. The Kremlin is situated in Red Square right| |just behind the wall along with Lenin's Tomb. Today the Russian population comes to the Red Square to attend weddings, shop at the many stores, and skate on the ice by popular artists in the leagues of Paul McCartney and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are often performed at Red Square these days.

The Moscow Subway is likely the world's most impressive subway and looks more like an underground museum, rather a transport system. Each station on the Subway is designed to commemorate historical event or a person in Russian history with mosaics, statues, and carvings.

The Moscow Subway was originally designed during the 1930's not only as a transit system but also to serve as a shelter in case of a nuclear attack on Moscow. The Subway is the second busiest transportation system in the world; with over eight million people using it each day.

The Pushkin Complex, Museum of Fine Arts consists of 6 buildings located in Moscow. The Pushkin Museum showcases art from periods in ancient history to Modern Art. The works of Picasso, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh, some dating back to the 17th century; stand among Renaissance, Greek, Roman, and Medieval sculptures.

While visiting Moscow, Russia, don't miss the chance to see the beautiful cathedrals. The St. Basil Cathedral is located near the Kremlin, which consists of eight separate chapel buildings with each one signifying an important event. The Cathedrals of Christ the Savior are another sight that you can't afford to miss while visiting Moscow.

Another reason to travel to Moscow on your next vacation is the food. Russian cuisine consists of simple, basic foods and it tastes so good! You may even get the chance to sample some of Russia's world renowned black caviar while you are visiting. If invited to someone's house for Shashlik be sure to take them up on their hospitality. Shashlik are pieces of marinated meat on a skewer, roasted over a blazing fire. It's the Russian version of a barbecue and is meant to be enjoyed by friends. I have listed this last in my 7 top reasons to travel to Moscow but it should be listed first. The people are what make a country what it is; take the time to meet the locals while you are visiting Moscow. You will be happy that you did!
