Darjeeling; a stunning and ever-charming hill station has always been known for its tea and cute little toy train. At altitude of 2050 m, it’s at the foothills of Himalayas. For a summer holiday in India, it has always been a popular choice. The lush green landscape has been blessed with great culture and travel destinations like Siliguri and Kalimpong in the vicinity. So, don’t ever think of it as just a Darjeeling tour package. It would be so much more. The greenery on hills, snow on summit and warmth of people makes it much more mesmerizing. Here are the must-see places in and around the hill station.

Kanchenjunga, Darjeeling
The third highest mountain in the world, Kanchenjunga stands tall at altitude of 8586 m. The view of this gigantic mountain from Observatory hills is breathtaking. If skies are clear, their serenity and beauty cold take your breath way. Any closer to go to Kanchenjunga, though, ideally beyond the tiger hills; will require trekking and camping equipment. Tiger hills, at 2555 m, is a destination for true morning spectacle as the sun and Himalayan hills play Holi – a festival of colours, ...
... in the skies. The sun-set and sun-rise are not small events. The beauty of these events in clear skies is spellbinding. Though, this tall challenge is totally worth it, these quests are not for amateurs.

Jang Dong Palriffo Brang (Monastery), Kalimpong
Brang Gompa, also known as Durpin Monastery, was blessed by Dalai Lama in 1976. Today, it contains several sacred Buddhist documents of high importance. The simplistic architecture, creative wall paintings and enclosed prayer hall has such serene and holy ambiance. This monastery is a holy shrine at a very popular picnic spot that flaunts wonderful view of the landscape and the Himalayan Mountains far, far away.

Salugara Monastery, Siliguri
Honestly, when you enjoy a holiday in India, you will see several monasteries in your journey. Each is special in its own way. But, this Gompa is revered. Built by Tibetan Buddhist monks, it has 100 feet long Stupa. Blessed by Tibetan Lama - Kalu Rinpoche, this Stupa contains 5 kinds of Buddhist relics.

The beauty and charm of Darjeeling is ever-lasting. There is a serene and charming tea estate, a rock garden called Ganga Maya Park, Samendu Lake and Saramsa Garden with exotic plants and birds. You can also go white river rafting and trekking in Kalimpong. Darjeeling has been known as hill station and a holiday destination for ever. Yet, Darjeeling tour packages never get old or boring. You can enjoy so much in and around that the mass appeal of Darjeeling would stay alive forever.
