A technical writer is one who words technical information in the simplest form, which makes it easy for average minds to comprehend. They could write articles about new machinery, car manuals, and industrial guides. The job includes simplifying jargon that lay people may not understand, and breaking down complex procedures as well.

Taking up this job doesn't restrict you to a routine day by day procedure; rather, you would be exposed to many different things each and every day, depending on the field of your choice. In general, you could pick to write for a specific field, say, engineering which would confine you to write reports, articles, manuals and guides for all things related to engineering. This would be the same concept for the medical field, architecture, business, agriculture and so on.

In addition to that, if you choose to work for a magazine column or newspaper section, you would get a full range exposure to different things.
