To Become A Model When Your Parents Are Not Willing

India is a country that is deep rooted in its traditions and customs. In this country for a middle class family to have high dreams and aspirations is kind of sin. They are not encouraged and even before the seed of the dream is sowed; it is very brutally uprooted from your minds and even your hearts.
Malini was a girl with such dreams and she dreamt of becoming a model. That was her sin and she was guilty of it. Since the age of five she used to flip the magazines and was so enamored by the models out there wearing different kinds of clothes and looking beautiful. Television further fluttered her dreams and she was sure that this is what she had wanted to do in her life.
Her dreams were shattered by her very own family members and particularly the ‘patriarch’ of the family. Earlier the objection came in the form of sugar coated words and later the sugar coated words came in the form of rods and their marks were peeking through her body.
She grew up and the sight of hers used to send sweet sensations in the minds and hearts of the boys in the village. She was very beautiful with long flowing tresses ...
... and a slender figure. Malini was perfect to become a model and it seems as if her destiny just chose her for this profession and she was just following the path. Her dreams might have shattered, but it still lay dormant in some corner of her heart and she just needed a push to get that dream of her realized to become one of the famous Indian female models.
And yes she did!
Now in college she started getting a lot of modeling offers along with other male Indian models and how long could she have stayed away from all of it. After all she was meant for it. She once again tried conveying her aspirations and dreams to her rigid parents, but to no avail. That is when she decided to leave her home and follow her heart.
Now after five years she has become a top notch model and her parents too are proud of her. If during her childhood, the sugar coated reprimands and iron rods were not gifted to her and instead a huge amount of support and belief was reinstated in her, the story perhaps would have been different and happier.
Just a note to all parents-
Support your kids in whatever career they want to take up
Believe in them; it means a lot to them
Show your love and care for them, every time
Modeling as a profession is not very respected among the middle class family but still comparatively the situation has improved a lot. The families have started respecting the children’s decisions and it is a better situation now.
To enter the modeling industry you have to be smart, photogenic and daring. There are a number of Indian female models and male models who have tried their luck and made it big in the industry. You can come to Models n trends and try your luck too.
