Reduce Swelling With Rawleigh
Exercise is the best thing you can do for your body. It helps you maintain your weight, lower your blood pressure, improve the efficiency of your heart and lungs, and boost your mood thanks to all of those endorphins. However, exercise can also cause pain hours later. Known as delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), this paid is a natural part of building muscles but if you want to reduce swelling and pain associated with DOMs you may want to try a camphor-based ointment, such as the one offered by Rawleigh.
When you exercise, you are actually damaging parts of your muscle. This is necessary because when it heals, the muscle should be stronger and larger, at least as long as you're getting enough protein and other important nutrients in your diet. But before that happens, your immune system kicks into gear and sends cytokines to the injury site to start the healing process. With the cytokines at work, three things are going to happen. First, inflammation is going to occur because the chemicals cause inflammation and an increase in fluids around the muscle. That increase in fluids leads to swelling. If you reduce ...
... swelling, you'll also ease some of your discomfort. Plus, some products, including the one offered by Rawleigh, include other natural ingredients that can help eliminate other causes of muscle pain and discomfort.
To reduce swelling, you may want to try a camphor ointment. Camphor has a reputation for increasing blood circulation which speeds up healing, for relaxing muscles which can decrease muscle tightness, and for reducing fluid build-up around muscles.
While taking care of the swelling can ease some of your discomfort, there are other ways to combat DOMS, too. The Rawleigh ointment product, for example, includes other ingredients, such as oil of wintergreen, which fights inflammation. This combination can reduce swelling and ease pain. Plus, the improved blood circulation caused by the camphor is going to reduce the amount of time it takes for your muscles to repair themselves.
Of course, you also have to give yourself sometime between strenuous workouts. If you do too much damage to the muscle consecutively, you could end up causing a serious injury that could take much longer to correct. Give yourself at least 24 hours between workouts to rest your muscles and apply a topical camphor ointment like the one offered by Rawleigh to the site of soreness throughout the day to help reduce swelling. Then you'll be ready to get back to your exercise routine the following day.
W.T. Rawleigh founded Rawleigh Products in the late 1800s to create a line of "Good Health Products" that possessed both strength and quality.
