In a recent radio interview, a 60 year old man from the southern part of the United Kingdom confessed that this has been the fiercest winter that he has ever seen. Putting that into clear perspective implies that there has not been a worse winter in the country in over 5 decades. The rains have been unrelenting since they began around December and have wrecked havoc all over. But even worse is the forecast that everything is only going to get much worse before it can start getting any better. The prediction right now is that some parts of the country are headed for about a month more of non-stop rain.

The weather scene may be gloomy and there is nothing much that you can do to change that. But what you can do is find consolation by treating yourself to some clothing items that will not only help you through the bad weather, but leave you feeling better about yourself. The best ladies trousers for this season are trousers that are made out of thick and heavy materials as these materials are better able to keep you warm. Baggy jeans or corduroy trousers would do the job perfectly, but light cotton trousers should be avoided at all costs. The only exception to this rule is if you are buying cotton ladies trousers to be worn to the office (which is highly unlikely in most parts of the country where the heavy rains have caused the blockage of roads and cut down power lines).

Still on the rains, because it is hardly likely that you are going to remain holed up inside the house for an entire month, now would be the best time to invest in a waterproof coat. Ensure that the coat is of full length so that it covers your whole body whenever you are out in the rain and leaves you dry. If possible, buy one that also has a head covering since you never know when you might need to use that.
