The Mousetrap, a murder mystery, is a novel written by the famous Agatha Christe. At the West End Theater it was staged in 1952, and is running since then. Initially it has run for 23,000 shows, and has made history. Even Agatha Christe herself has commented on the stage show as, "It's not really frightening. It's not really horrible. It's not really a farce. But it has a little of all these things and perhaps that satisfies a lot of people." Over 10 million people viewed the classic murder, and the play has been staged in more than 40 countries and been translated into over 20 languages. The play has its twist ending and the audience is asked not to disclose.

The plot of the play is a murder which remains as a dilemma till the end. The scene opens with the young couple, owner of a new hotel, Mrs. Boyle and Giles Ralston. A traveler arrives whose car is stuck by the snow. In the meantime Detective Sergeant Trotter arrives and informs that a murderer is at spree and heading towards the hotel. The murder of Miss Maureen Lyon was committed in London. In the interim one of the hotel guests, Mrs. Boyle gets killed and they ...
... apprehend that the killer is in the hotel. The suspect was presumed to be Christopher Wren, an erratic man. But a rumor spreads that any one of the guests could have committed the crime. As in each thriller the audience is requested not to identify the killer. But with all the repercussions tensions and misgivings, and with usual Agatha Christe's twist of a dining room solution, the sergeant at last was identified as the killer. He was also found not to be a true sergeant. And thereafter Sergeant Metcalf was identified as an undercover sergeant who solved the murder case.

During the play, several other moments of suspense and surprise are in store to make it a perfect thriller. The Mousetrap, impressively utilizes the dialogue, rather than using the visual scenes
