Dirty dancing musical stage show has surpassed all its previous appearances showed in the form of movies and TV serials. This classic story has embedded in it, vibrant music, action and energy, mingling all to a successful live performance. The shows astounding performance in the stage compelled the audience to book in advance and sold the tickets for six months in advance. The Dirty Dancing show is basically a live replica of the movie with few additions for the stage.

The Act opens with a scene showing 'Baby' on vacation, with her Jewish parents, at Max Kelleman's resort in Catskill Mountains and her father, Jerry Orbach, happens to be the personal physician for Max. Baby contemplates of joining Mt. Holyoke College to study economics and thereafter to join the Peace Corps. In the next scene Baby is seen to lean towards the dance instructor of the resort, Johnny Castle. Baby was invited to one of the parties where she learns that Johnny's dance partner Penny Johnson was pregnant form her sister Lisa's dating mate Robbie Gould. She ultimately manages for Penny's abortion. During Penny's absence Baby was doing the performance ...
... as a fill-in. Gradually Baby becomes a student of Johnnie and a romance develops. They performed at Sheldrake which went of well and after returning she learnt about Penny's danger of an unsuccessful abortion. Baby's father thinking that Johnny created the trouble for Penny asks Baby to refrain from her activities with Johnny, but the affair continues. It comes to light with accusations on Johnny for a stolen wallet of a guest. But Baby coming to his rescue exposing their affair by confessing that he was with her at the time of theft. But Johnny was sacked for his involvment with a guest but realized the unselfish act of Baby, that "there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them".

The story is semi- autobiographical, but the sentimental romance of an innocent seventeen-year-old, has the intellectual depth of an immature myth
Dirty Dancing is really about sex presented with a romantic coating through the example of dance and is at its best.

The musical has won Academy in 1987 and went on to win Golden Globe Awards, 1988 and Grammy Awards, 1988 for the movies.
