In biological treatment, bacteria and other microorganisms are used to decompose wastewater biochemically. The biological treatment involves two major categories namely aerobic and anaerobic. Treatment of wastewater is very crucial because proper treatment of wastewater not just reduces health risks to humans and animals but it also prevents surface and groundwater contamination. Ineffective wastewater treatment allows bacteria, viruses and other diseases which are very dangerous to humans, animals and environment.
