With the increasing use of computers in operations, organizations need someone who manages the system well. The profile of system administrator has become greatly important, and people expect very high level of expertise. A good administrator builds and maintains the computer system well, fixes it when there is a crash, and tunes it for an enhanced performance.

8. Job responsibilities include application monitoring as well. Hence, they have to understand SNMP or Nagios tools.
9. If a person includes the knowledge of VMWare server in the resume, then employers look at him with a great respect.
10. Though there are a few contradictions about its relevance, but many people still find ITIL an essential qualification for system administrators. It gives an insight to look at it from the customer’s perspective.
