A storage container will be needed in order to store the laundry detergent while it's being used. The entire Fels Naphta bar has to be grated up completely. It can be grated easily in a food processor. Then, the Fels Naphta has to be mixed up with the Borax and washing soda in the storage container. It only takes one tablespoon for every regular size load of laundry.

In a large saucepan, you will need to heat up one quart of water and one bar of grated Fels Naphta until the soap has been melted. Once it has melted, it will need to be poured into the storage container with two gallons of water. Then, the Borax and washing soda will need to be mixed in the storage container. Stir the contents will and let it sit overnight. It will need to be stirred or shaken-up before it is used. The consistency will be like egg-noodle soap or gel-like. Each load of laundry will need 1/4 of a cup of laundry detergent.

It is a natural cleaning agent, that is mild on skin and fabric and are best for people that are allergic to chemical detergents. Individuals do not have to worry about having allergic reactions or breaking out from the natural laundry detergent.
