I believe that all states should have a mortgage license for the mortgage broker. The home mortgage is probably one of the most important and biggest purchase most people make in their life time. I think with the amount of money involved you would want the person handling the situation to have some sort of formal training. I all so believe their should not be any legal lope hole to prevent people from having to be licensed. It should be the same requirement the the entitle nation not just one segment of the united states. The criminal back ground check usually takes about 3 moths to complete. The mortgage broker will be finger printed and all information will be checked. There is all so insurance requirement. A mortgage broker will need a surety bong and a errors and omissions insurance in case the person makes a mistake. I think this is great. It the person does happen to make a mistake they will have a least some insurance to help cover the mistake. I believe this would help a lot of people in the long run and I hope that the entire united states uses this rules.
