Many look to this strategy as one of the most effective methods while there are those who still believe that they can obtain the same results (or even better ones) through other promotional tools such as pay-per-click campaigns.

True, both article marketing and PPC come with their own merits but one of them has to come out better than the other as far as effective promotions is concerned.

Pay-per-click marketing is an attractive prospect because it allows businesses to get good search placements apart from their organic search engine optimization efforts. With PPC, a company can buy its placement on search results for particular keywords or key phrases. What makes PPC so attractive is that a marketer will only pay the search engine or service when a user clicks through the ad posted on the search page's 'sponsored links' area. It's cost-effective because you don't need to pay for the service unless somebody clicks through the ad and you can still work on getting a good placement on the organic search results ...

With article marketing, you only need to take the time to create articles and distribute them to various sites such as e-zines. There are lots of article submission sites that will not charge you for submitting informative content. You only need to follow their submission guidelines to make sure that you don't get banned from the site.

While PPC can increase your online visibility, article marketing can help you earn credibility in your industry. Users go online mainly because the internet offers them access to a wealth of information. Becoming a source of information can get you in the good graces of your audience and potential consumers.

A product increases its saleability when it is promoted by someone who is considered an authority in that industry. You wouldn't buy anything from an unknown seller. With article marketing, you get to take branding to a whole new level. When you submit articles to submission portals, for instance, you can opt to include a link to your site or mention your product within the content. While your article is not necessarily promotional in nature, the subtle inclusion of your company's name is enough to attract the attention of a potential customer. After all, those who are actively looking for information on particular products are also the ones that are most likely to avail of them.

Article submission and distribution can be a challenge if you're not someone who knows his way around his pen and paper. While it doesn't cost much as far as money is concerned, creating informative content for distribution can take some of your time especially if you are not the type who enjoys writing. Unlike PPC that you can very well leave with your marketers or which you can easily do on your own, article marketing is something that will warrant the assistance of a wordsmith.
