Over time and use, the data on your computer's hard drive will become fragmented. For Windows XP Users, the most common method of defragging your hard drive is as follows:

1. Open My Computer.
2. Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment, and then click Properties.

4. Click Defragment.
