If you smoke cigarettes you\'ve probably at one time or another wondered what kinds of cancer are caused by smoking cigarettes. Smoking also causes heart disease, stroke and cataracts. So what kinds of cancer are caused by smoking cigarettes? Smoking causes about 85% of the lung cancer deaths in the US today. Others cancers caused by smoking include kidney, pancreatic, cervical and stomach cancers. Smoking cigarettes can also cause acute myeloid leukemia and another cancer.
In addition to the cancers caused directly by smoking cigarettes are those that are caused by secondhand smoke. It\'s reported that secondhand smoke causes about 3000 lung cancer deaths in nonsmokers.

Overall, smoking is guilty of every three cancer deaths. It is clear that the smoke causes lung cancer, but smoking also play a major role in the development of cancer in many other organs. Lung cancer claims more deaths than any other cancer, as only approximately 5 percent can be cured. 90 percent of lung cancer patients were active smokers.
Smoking also increases cancer risk in particular mouth, pharynx, throat, esophagus, breast, urinary bladder, pancreas, kidney, stomach and cervical. The risk of cancer falls gradually in people who quit smoking.
