allergic rhinitisSINGULAIR is prescription medicines that reduce the substances in the body called leukotrienes. This may help to pick up symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis. SINGULAIR does not include a steroid. Singulair contain Montelukast as active element. Montelukast is used frequently to avoid the coughing and difficulty breathing due to bronchial asthma and reduce the number of bronchial asthma strikes. Montelukast is also used before work out to avoid difficulty in respiration during work out (bronchospasm).

SINGULAIR is used to :

Prevent asthma attacks and for the long-term asthma treatment in adults and children ages 12 months and older.
Prevent exercise-induced asthma in children’s of 6 years of age and older.
Help control the symptoms of allergic rhinitis like sneezing, stuffy nose, runny nose, itching of the nose etc.


SINGULAIR used for treatment of :

Outdoor allergies that happen part of the year (seasonal allergic ...
... rhinitis) in adults and children ages 2 years and older, and
Indoor allergies that happen all year (perennial allergic rhinitis) in adults and children ages 6 months and older.


CONDITION WHEN YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO TAKE SINGULAIR

If you are allergic to aspirin
If you have phenylketonuria. SINGULAIR chewable tablets which has aspartame, a source of phenylalanine
If you have any other medical conditions
If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant singulair may not be right for you.
If you are breast-feeding to your child then singulair passes into your breast milk. So don’t feed your baby while you are taking singulair.


HOW YOU TAKE SINGULAIR DOSAGE :

Take SINGULAIR exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will tell how the dosage should be taken.
Do not stop taking SINGULAIR or change the dosage without concerning to your doctor.
You can take SINGULAIR with food or without food.
If you or your child misses a dose of SINGULAIR, just take the next dose at your regular time. Do not take two doses at the same time.
Do not take singulair in excessive amount it will harmful to you.


SIDE EFFECTS OF SINGULAIR :

SERIOUS EFFECTS :

Agitation including aggressive behavior or hostility
Bad or vivid dreams
Depression
Disorientation (confusion)
Feeling anxious
Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not really there)
Irritability
Restlessness
Sleep walking
Suicidal thoughts and actions (including suicide)
Tremor
Trouble sleeping


COMMAN SIDE EFFECTS OF SINGULAIR :

Upper respiratory infection
Fever
Headache
Sore throat
Cough
Stomach pain
Diarrhea
Earache or ear infection
Flu
Runny nose
Sinus infection


STORAGE :

Keep singulair at 59°F to 86°F.
Store singulair in the container it comes in.
Place singulaie away from sunlight
