Why Domestic Tourists Travel To Rajasthan?

Rajasthan is a popular travel destination amongst domestic tourists as well as international tourists. However, Indians explore different sightseeing activities and itinerary than foreign travellers. The considerable difference comes from the exposure to the history and geography of Rajasthan as a state and not as a travel destination. This difference in perception promotes the domestic tour packages in Rajasthan.

This desert state was an important part of Rajput history. From history books in school to television serials, from fictional novels to mythical folklores, the Indian travellers are enticed by these Rana’s, Maharanas and Rajout warriers. This intrigue attracts Indians to Rajasthan travel packages during winter holiday season. No wonder, Indians love to visit the important cities that have so much history to be proud of such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Bubdi, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.

Pushkar is a popular temple town, which is famous as “Adi Tirtha”, which is also mentioned in holy Indian epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata. Ajmer is popular holy town that attracts Hindus and Muslims with equal devotion as it houses a Dargah Sharif, which is a burial ground for Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-Ud-Din Chist, who has been worshipped by millions of Hindus and Muslims.

However, there is another set of domestic travellers – young adventurers, youthful thrill seekers and trekkers. This is the latest and fast growing travel trend with large number of young travellers. This awesome land of desert stands tall as a unique adventure destination. Tiger reserve in Ranthambore is an exciting wildlife destination. Jungle safari in this rugged landscape is a thrill ride for sure. Proud mountain summits of Aravali mountain range are really fascinating. Several hardcore trekkers, hikers to horse riders visit up to the mountain summits as a recreational sport. In addition, Rajasthan deserts near major Rajasthan cities are perfect for jeep safaris, sand dune rides, camel rides and night camp at desert. If you are up for it, there is a unique annual sports competition in Pushkar, where you can witness or participate in camel race, satolia match, kabaddi match, Moustache competition, matka phod competition, etc. You won’t know the thrill of it till you have been there.
