Cars need more preventive maintenance than any other high value possession you might boast of. You can’t afford to have them die on you in some remote area or in the middle of the road. However, dings, scratches and other damage to the car body seem as inevitable as searing temperatures in peak summer — unless you live somewhere near the Arctic or Antarctic. Except when you have been involved in a severe car crash or have exposed your precious baby to the elements during particularly inclement weather, normally car body refurbishment does the trick to restore resale value of your car.

There is a significant difference between car body repair and car body refurbishment. Refurbishment involves window replacement, painting, parts replacement and other work which are some of the more visible repairs that are done following an accident. Repair on a large panel, such as a roof, bonnet (hood), boot lid (trunk) or often on other larger panels around the car like wings, doors etc can work very well if undertaken properly. While you can always take a DIY approach for the general car maintenance services such as an oil change, ...
... tune-ups or diagnostics but you must always hire a professional for the complex car problems.

Whether you need refurbishment or repairs always go to the kind of shop which will supply you with a detailed, written estimate that outlines the cost of the materials being used and the total number of hours that are required to make the repairs. Although there have been major advances in undercoats and corrosive resistant materials and gadgets, rust is still a major problem on automobiles. Surface rust, with solid metal found beneath it, can be easily removed with sanding followed by the application of epoxy primer. Most credible car body repair shops are approved by manufacturers and insurance companies; so remember to check their various accreditation certificates and affiliation.
