Rencontres d'Arles

One of the oldest and most prestigious events, the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival is held in the picturesque city of Arles, Provence in France. The whole city participates in the festival featuring over 60 exhibitions with medieval churches and former factories also converted into fantastic venues. Attracting more than 70,000 photo enthusiasts, the festival is a convergence point for different forms of photography exploring new techniques and concepts, unveiling unseen works every summer since 1970. The theme for last year delved in the charm of black-and-white photography. Apart from the exhibitions, the cafés and squares of Arles become casual meeting grounds for passionate photographers.

Madrid's premier annual photo festival is another celebrated photography forum that showcases excellent works by Spanish and international photographers. The art hub of the world pulses with photographic enthusiasm during Paris Photo, one of the internationally famous photography festivals of France. With a lavish hosting at the Grand Palias of Paris, the 2013 edition displayed vivid images with historic and contemporary themes at 135 galleries to more than 50,000 visitors.
