Tips To Automatically Close Pop-up Windows

Computers have formed a period where nearly anything is feasible. We can talk in real time to someone literally on the other side of the planet. But there is one aspect of life that computers have not helped: clutter. We use so much of our time cleaning the physical area surrounding us, but we cope with untidy electronics constantly. A quick browse through the Internet can produce frequent pop-up advertisements. A computer update may be pushed through at any instant and a notification window will appear in the middle of your screen. More and more windows constantly open, creating a chaotic, unorganized device.
Naturally, the immediate reaction to electronic clutter is to just close the windows as they appear. As the pop ups emerge you must stop what you're doing, find the close button, and finally actually close the window. This results in a constant game of cat-and-mouse that will simply never be won. Pop ups will carry on literally forever.
There are some recent services that will ...
... assist to control pop ups from an Internet browser. Tools including Adblock and Adblock Plus work within a browser to prevent pop ups from occurring. However, the disadvantage is that browser extensions don't work between numerous internet browsers. This means that an extension loaded in Internet Explorer will not work to suppress advertisements in a Firefox or Chrome browser.
An additional drawback to in-browser programs is that they only impact any pop ups occurring within the browser. This means that the application will not apply to any pop ups coming from the computer itself. Any system notifications aren't going to be blocked and will still appear in your display.
Luckily, there is a application available from www.hothotsoftware.com that works to specifically defend against unwanted windows. The program is installed on your computer, rather than a browser, so it works for all windows on your computer. This includes pop-up windows from your browser as well as system notifications from the computer itself.
Upon opening the program, you will notice a standard user interface that any user will be familiar with. There is then a list labeled ‘Windows to Close' that will initially be unpopulated. Below this list is a field that enables the consumer to designate which windows to close. This is completed by use of simply entering a word or phrase that pertains to the window that should be closed. This is done by reading the word or phrase that is listed in the title bar of the window(s) to close.
As an example, opening a new Microsoft Word document in Office 2013 should have a title of Document1 - Word listed in the title bar of the window. This means that if any of the words Document1 or Word are listed in the program then the window is going to be closed automatically. However, this does not imply that you will lose any work if the file is closed when you haven't saved it. The standard prompt to save your work will appear upon closing the window.
After populating the list of words to associate with windows to close, the program can be set to run once and clean your screen or it may be allowed to run constantly. By entering the word advertisement into the list and running the program continuously you can successfully defend against browser pop-up windows. Similarly, by including notification in the list you can close any system notifications once they appear.
