It is essential to consume a nutritious rich diet for healthy hair as it is the internal system of the body that supplies nutrient to the hair follicles. Proteins help in building ionic and disulphide bonds which are required for strengthening of hair. When one goes for straightening of the hair it is these bonds which are broken up. Due to which after few sittings one develops dry and brittle hair post straightening of their hair.

Protein rich sources are milk, cereals, cheese, dairy products, nuts, seeds, soy and grains. Consuming protein rich diet will help an individual for continuous production of new hair growth.

Methionine is a type of essential amino acid that has proved beneficial in avoiding baldness.

Lysine is also a type of amino acids which is useful for the hair growth by increasing the growing phase and reducing the falling phase tenure of the hair.

Lack of protein will give rise to a condition named as hypoproteinemia leading to hair fall and deterioration of the quality of hair by making it dry and lusterless.
