Unfortunately, in today's society, there are more channels of communication open to use and abuse, so it becomes much more difficult to control your child's movements. Lastly, monitor the origin of their phone calls. Some people may consider it an invasion of privacy, but in reality you will simply be taking care of your child's safety. Having the advantage of more life experience, you are likely to see possible danger when your child would not.

As a parent, you have a responsibility towards your child. Although executing this responsibility may sometimes be met with resistance, it is still your duty. Keep in mind that this resistance comes from someone who is not yet equipped to deal with life. You may have grown up in a time when things were different, but you have also learned more as time progressed.
