American Offering More Choices & Destinations

The new American Airlines, which consists of both American and US Airways, hopes to become many travelers airline of choice in part because of its ability to offer cheap travel options, such as cheap airplane tickets and cheap vacation packages.

As a result of its recent merger, American Airlines has expanded its network and can fly customers to 330 destinations around the world.

Effective immediately American is making it easier for customers to seamlessly book select flights on American and US Airways through a codeshare agreement, which allows each airline to sell seats on flights operated by the other carrier.

American has also announced that its passengers can earn and redeem Dividend Miles on both American and US Airways.

The impact of American’s merger moves include:

• More choices for travel to select destinations throughout North America, South America and Europe through American’s hubs in Chicago O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York JFK.

• More ways to explore South America with American’s service to destinations throughout ...
... Bolivia, Brazil, Chile Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela, as codeshare offerings are expanded between American and US Airways.

• Access to Asia, where soon US Airways customers will be able to book American flights to Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo, and starting this summer, Hong Kong.

Customers will need to check in with the operating airline online or at the airport to confirm which airline will be operating which flights and check for gate and terminal information. Many US Airways and American gates are located in different terminals.

Over the next few months American and US Airways will add more codeshare flights and expect to soon be able to provide access to almost all flights throughout its combined network.
