There is nothing more daunting then hearing a preacher struggling and stumbling
through a sermon.rambling on from one thing to another aimlessly trying to say
something. confusing him or herself and more importantly confusing the Listeners
Most Preacher do not know and understand that preaching is an art.its just not
something that a person just pick up and do.first of all they must be call and sent
to Preach.Roman 10:14-15,How then shall they call on him in whom they have not
believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how
shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach,except they be sent? as it is written,How beautiful are
the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace,and bring glad tidings of good things!
When we talk about sermons and preaching we must talk about Homiletics the word
homiletics is derived from the greek word homilia it signifies either a mutual talk and
conversation or a set discourse.it is from this word homilia that we get our english word
homiletics its reference is to that ...
... of science or art in others word it pertains to the
preparation and delivery of sermons and bible addresses.Homiletics then show us
How to prepare a sermon and how to deliver a sermon effectively.so when we talk about
art and science in terms of preaching.Homiletics should come to mind for its the art
and science of Preaching.
What is Preaching,Preaching is the Preclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
the good news of salvation through man to man.
What should a basic sermon outline look like.First there should be the choce of the
text,what is a text ? a text is a verse or passage from the bible.the text is that which the
sermon is build upon.text is from the latin word texus or textum and these words mean
or signified something woven or spun.so it is out of the text in which the sermon is woven.
There should be three main parts to a sermon,Number oneThe Introduction,Two The Body
which would deal with the What,Where,How,and Why,and Then The Conclusion.
All of these Elements are important when it come to laying out you sermon.What does a sermon
do.it help the Preacher Stay Focus,therefore alone with the Holy Spirit it allow the preacher
to be more effective in his or her sermon delivery.
