Hospitals in Chennai are gradually turning to electronic medical records of patients rather than storing up all the papers. The whole reason behind opting for digitally storing the patient records is to relieve them of the headache associated with storing all the paper files and archiving them for future reference.
The medical records need to be archived with extra care as it can determine the correctness of a patient’s diagnosis. Hence, switching over to digital medical records is a necessity for every hospital in India. However, what if the server crashes and all the data stored in the same is lost forever? The backup of the medical records is as important as having electronic formats of the same.
Manual backups taken of the servers in the form of external physical storage devices does not entirely do away with the risks posed by server failures. Manual backups cannot be automated and hence needs to be done periodically, maybe once a week. Therefore, hospitals can stand to lose data stored for over a week if the server crashes at the wrong time. Hence, it is only advisable and wise to opt for an automated backup ...
... solution which will take near continuous incremental data backup of your server.
However, it needs to be understood that automated backup solutions would require a sufficiently wide bandwidth for the same to happen without any major hiccups. As the pipe is used for both internal data transfer as well as the backup, there remains a significant chance of the same being choked up thereby affecting timely backup of the server information.
Server backup solutions can be customized to suit the needs of a particular hospital. There are various packages that are offered and each one of them offers different features. This means that a hospital is able to choose a package that meets its needs in terms of data storage. With customized packages, hospitals administrators are able to pay more attention to their core function and that is to make sure the patients are well taken care off.

The IT department in most hospitals has to handle a lot of data and if this has to be done manually, it can be very expensive in terms. The automatic solutions offer a cost effective way of protecting patient information for future use. The solutions are able to manage multiple systems from a central location. This makes it easy to keep track of all the information that is stored in the hospital.
