Mankind has been exposed to many changes over the years. It is the urge to know more and the quest to a more comforting life, that has led humans to evolve and transform into a civilized society. Following the same suit, he continues to adopt a better lifestyle while keeping pace with the changing times. Though man gathers extensive knowledge on new developments in the technological world, he fails to notice the basic elements that have revolutionized the world, i.e. wires and cables. It may be difficult to believe, but its the same strands of metal that you constantly plug into the socket and run through the walls of your home, that have extensively influenced the advancement of technology.

The need for copper and its explorations in the electrical world cannot be ignored. Every advancement in technology can be credited to this sober metal that scores high on conductivity and strength. Copper cables and wires started the electrical wiring journey in the 1820's, and they continue to dominate the wiring sector. Though technological advancements drastically transformed the cabling industry, the one thing that continues ...
... to remain the same, is the need for copper wires. Apart from holding the prime position as the internationally approved metal for home wiring, these wires continue to hold great honor and recognition among architects and electricians, for their reliability, malleability and conductivity. Some electrical experts swear by this metal, and state that no metal has ever been found, that can actually replicate the properties of copper.

Though aluminum wires are also being widely used in the wiring industry, it only offers a substitute to copper, presently. The only factor that motivates architects to choose aluminum over copper, is its weight and value. Aluminum electrical cables are extensively light-weight and affordable, as compared to copper cables. Their light-weight construction allows excellent mobility and flexibility to the wires that makes them apt for long distance power distribution. As these wires require less support and are much cheaper than copper wires, they are highly recommended for industrial applications by experts.

New devices require an advanced range of wires and cables. Though their appearance and their composition continues to change, the conductors which form the core elements of the wires, still remains the same. Though almost everything in the world is slowly going wireless, the entire wireless medium also revolves around wires, as the modem through which the signal and the frequency pass, requires the presence of wires for smooth power transmission. As long as humans continue to use technology and make new inventions, the need for electricity and wires will always continue to exist.
